Rock out, have a drink, and learn to play your favorite song with Tipsy Tunes!
Tipsy Tunes was born from two longtime friends, musicians, and teachers who wanted to create a different kind of guitar learning experience—one that feels more like hanging out with friends than sitting in a traditional music class. We’re not here to lecture or judge. We’re here to play music, have a drink or two, and help people feel comfortable picking up a guitar—maybe for the first time ever.
Each Tipsy Tunes experience is a one-hour group session designed for all levels—whether you’ve never touched a guitar, have a guitar collecting dust in your room that you’ve always been meaning to play, or you’ve been noodling for years. Every song you learn has three versions to choose from: a super simple one-note version for total beginners, a middle option with basic chords, and a more advanced version if you’ve been playing for a while. Everyone gets their own path into the song, but the group still moves as one—like a band.
And if you end the night loving your guitar? Good news—you can take it home. We sell the same guitars we use during the experience, so you can keep the good vibes going even after the show is over and you’re on the tour bus heading to the next town.
Tipsy Tunes, the more you drink, the better we sound.
Tipsy Tunes is about creating a space where people can express themselves and still feel part of something bigger—like a band. It’s connection, it’s community, it’s a chance to plug into the moment and unplug from everything else.
Founder of Tipsy Tunes
Michael brings over a decade of experience both on stage and in the classroom. He earned his bachelor’s degree in guitar performance from the University of Nevada, Reno, and has taught everyone from total beginners to gigging musicians. His playing is grounded in his love of rock, but blooms in many stylistic directions—melodic, tasteful, elegant, and always expressive. Influenced by icons like Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, and Angus Young, Michael likes his bourbon neat—and his music on the rocks.
Creative Partner, Tipsy Tunes
Charlie is a self-taught guitarist with 35 years of experience, from rock bands to soulful solo acoustic sets. He’s spent 15 years teaching guitar, working with players of all levels—including the founder of Tipsy Tunes. He did his PhD work in history at UNLV and now teaches at the College of Southern Nevada. His playing is blues-based—raw, urgent, and straight from the liver. He draws inspiration from Ritchie Blackmore, Rik Emmett, Jimi Hendrix, and Albert King. He likes his bourbon neat, too.
The only way to truly understand the magic of Tipsy Tunes is to experience it. So what are you waiting for?
Come hang out, grab a drink, and let’s make some music together!
